Q.What did Baba say regarding the need of a Guru in one's life?

Humbly Yours,

Feature of the week: Call me to Shirdi!

I wish I could come stay in Shirdi forever and ever Oh Sai!
But, how could I? Unless you wish I could!
Call me to Shirdi my Sayee....Call me to Shirdi!

Baba said, "I draw to Me My man from far off, or even across the seven seas, like a sparrow with a string fastened to its feet." He also made it clear to him that if he were not Baba's man, he would not be attracted to Him and given a darshan. Baba also said that He is not the three cubits long body that lived in Shirdi but He will manifest wherever there is true longing and devotion. The above statements may appear to contradict unless one sees the real context in which they are uttered or used. Realizing Baba in places other than Shirdi is a true pursuit of Baba in the attempts to see Baba in every being. However, visiting a pilgrim center such as Shirdi is a recommended practice for a Saadhaka. It is a suggested that every Muslim must do Haj at least once in his lifetime. It is also true that visiting Babylon is one of the desires of most Christians.

The physical presence of a devotee in Shirdi, the taste of its water, soil, and breeze, the perfumes of the air and the chanting of the aarthis in the presence of so many other devotees has a magical effect. Standing in the Samadhi mandir, in front of the piercing eyes of love and compassion does away with the pain and suffering of the visitors with one stroke. The assurances of material and spiritual wealth come to reality. Once a devotee steps on the soil of Shirdi, his life is set on a different course. One immense longing that a devotee leaves Shirdi with is that he should return to Shirdi. The power of the magic soil is such!

Contributed Article:Divine Love of Baba

It was a 1914 Ramnavmi day-a day of annual fair at Shirdi; about sixty to sixty-five thousands of people had come to pay their respects to Baba. The Police Party with their officers, big and small, was also present for (proper security), keeping the crowd in order. Baba had had sat up since early morning, and so when it was past 11 a.m. devotees round about asked the police to stop the coming visitors for a -while to enable Baba to have His breakfast. Baba said, "I have no appetite for food to-day. The bustling crowd was rushing to the Dwarkamayi jostling one another and pushing its way towards Baba. In the mean which an old woman aged about 60-65 Years, seated away from the Dwarkamayi, was bowling out without a break, requesting Baba, to have mercy on her and to favor her with His benign sight, Shri R. A. Tarkhad passing through the crowd heard her shouts and so being cut to the quick, led her to Baba through the surging crowd. As soon as she saw Baba, she fondly caressed Him; tears rolled down her eyes and she stood speechless for a few minutes, Baba blessed her by keeping His blissful hand on her head and inquired of her in minutest detail the well-being of her family; then He told her, "I have been waiting for you; tell me what you have brought to me for my food?" She said, "I had brought a loaf and two onions with me; but when I came half way I felt so very exhausted and hungry that sitting by a stream, I partook half of the loaf and one onion. The other half of the loaf and one onion are left unused; please do justice to them. Baba eagerly ate that loaf with onion saying, "Ah! How sweet these are." Devotees surrounding Baba and listening to what passed before their eyes were very much struck the reception accorded by Baba to the loving old poor woman.

Baba was in the know of all His devotees outside had been sending Him, and if one forgot to deliver it to Him He would remind that one of it and would not rest till it was given over to Him.

Master Mankar was given a piece of sweets by Mrs. Tarkhad at the time of his departure for Shirdi. Reaching Shirdi, he went to Baba and paid his respects to Baba but clean forgot about the Sweetmeat. Baba did not say a word to him at the time. When however in the afternoon he again went to Baba, Baba asked him whether a devotee given him something for Him. Even this much was not sufficient to wake up him memory and so he at once replied in the negative. Then Baba again said, "Has not the mother given you a sweetmeat piece at the time you started for Shirdi?" The lad was at once reminded of the sweetmeat piece, and feeling sorry for his forgetfulness at once ran upto his abode; he returned with the sweetmeat piece and handed it over to Baba. Who at once devoured it with the zest of a hungry man.

Experiences of Devotees:

Deepanshi
First of all I will thank my Sai baba to be with me forever. He had been with me always. I loved a guy and we spend 2 years together but the starting of 3rd year was very much difficult for me. He left me and I became hopeless. You will not believe, Baba gave me all that I wanted but he has taken the person I love from me. I lost all my faith in Baba, and one day I cried in front of Baba and I told him that I couldn't live without him......do something so that I can have faith on again" and after that I went to the market. As I entered the market I told Baba that I wanted to see that person I loved as I have not seen him from past 2 months...you wont believe it, he was standing right in front of me. I begin to trust Baba again and now I believe that whatever he will do will be good 4 me...trust in him, he will be there with you forever

Deepanshi
Though I was very much fond of Baba, I never experienced presence of Baba before my sister's marriage. My family believes a lot in Baba and on my sister's marriage my dad posted an invitation to Shirdi and invited Baba whole-heartedly. My sis marriage was on Sunday, it was Thursday on which the marriage rituals are going to start, and on that day morning, I was going for some shopping and on the way, I saw a heart shaped locket of smiling Baba, which was so beautiful I cannot explain. I was very happy, as I am very much fond of Baba I kept that locket very securely putting in box and locking it inside. Everyday morning I used to see that locket and again I kept back in the box. After 7days every ritual like Sathyanarayana swami vratham and all completed, on 8th day when I opened my box surprisingly the locket was not there... Nobody knows that I kept that locket in that box and as it was not gold or anything to think that somebody has taken. I was almost crying and I searched everywhere but I did not find it anywhere. For a long time I was thinking how does it happened and why Baba done this to me. And one day through an experience I came to know that Baba came to my sis marriage and he want us to realize that that why he was miraculously disappear... I always feel like Baba is with me and whenever I feel bad or I am in trouble I feel like my Baba holds me and everything settles by itself. Believe in Baba ... He will save us from any problems.. He is our Guru and Divam.....Love you Baba...

Sirisha
Two months back we were in a very bad situation, my husband's project finished twice in this year, getting a project in the recession was very difficult. I too did not have a project, my employer wanted to revoke my Visa. I prayed Sai that believing I'm his devotee I've faith in him, he'll definitely give us a solution. If Sai has to order I was willing to leave India for good. I waited with patience and faith for the time to come. After nearly 11/2 month one Thursday evening I was speaking to my friend on phone, suddenly she advised me to read Sai Satcharita immediately. I don't know from where I got the will power, I bathed and started to read that night itself (of course I had my little kid with me for whom I've to attend always). But apart from all these I finished my reading by next Wednesday in 7days. That same Wednesday evening my husband had an interview which he excelled and believe me or not, he was asked to report for his new project that very Monday. My prostrations to dear Sai, I know he is always there for everyone of us. Another miracle happened the same day, my employer who wanted to revoke my visa called asking me to send my resume for marketing. Aren't all these miracles? If you pray to Sai with real earnest, that's all he is always there to fulfill your wishes. Sai is great. Thank you very much Sai. My faith in him has increased and I'll always remain his staunch devotee

Question of the Week:

Q. How does a Sai devotee deal with deceitful relationships and situations where there is abuse of trust?

A. by Anita

Nothing that we face is created by man. Our Lord Sai creates different situations to teach us different lessons. That is one way to keep us conscientious and peace on this earth. We face a situation of mistrust so we learn and be fair to others, not hurt others.
