Sai Vichaar wishes its readers and devotees a Special Thursday and sends blessings of Lord Sainath from Shirdi to all its readers. Today is the beginning of the fourth year on the web for Sai Vichaar. This is a special day of celebration of His love and glory. It would not be possible without Sainath's grace and the support of ever increasing number of readers and devotees across the globe. Inscrutable are His ways. It is said in Sai Satcharita that Sainath chooses His followers for various activities. It is also believed that unless He makes the choice, one cannot even attempt to initiate the task. It was Shriman Booty who was entrusted with the construction of the mandir while Srimad Hemadpanth was blessed with the task of authoring Sri Sai Satcharithaamritha. We are aware of Dasganu Maharaj's vision and how he was blessed with the task of propagating Sai tatva through his kirtans. A Sai devotee as a response to a vision that Sadguru Sainath had blessed him with a few years ago, conceived this Shri Saibaba web site. In a similar manner, Sainath has chosen Sai Vichaar through a vision graced to another Sai Devotee. What a thrust! Inscrutable are His ways indeed! Coconut's weight on a sparrow's head? Nothing is impossible with love and devotion! Let the love of Sai be reflected in every sentence written, every word said. Let our love and devotion to Him be seen in this Newsletter just as it has been elsewhere. Readers are requested to refer to Devotees Say for a posting from Shabnam Sanyal about Saidham in Los Angeles area. Devotees willing to know about Sai Satsangs in Seattle, Washington area, please refer to Srinivas's posting in the same section. Also, please refer to Devotees Say.. section for Sainaatha Dasa Naama Kasta Nivarana Sthothram contributed by Sai devotee Snigdha. The version presented last week had a few inadvertent errors. The original version by devotee Snigdha was flawless. Sai Vichaar accepts the responsibility and regrets the typographic errors. Sai devotee Suchandra Sai suggested the following question for "Question of the week" "What is the significance of Baba's cross-legged sitting posture with one leg over the knee of the other and placing his hand on his feet with his fore finger and middle finger a little apart?" Humbly yours, The Editor

Guru madhye Sthitham Vishwam The Universe has its being within the Guru; the Guru abides within the universe as its essence; the Guru is the universe; nothing exists besides him. Salutations to such a Guru - Shri Guru Gita Some have this question. Is Guru different from God? If Guru helps in realizing God, then must Guru be different from God? One physical analogy that easily comes to a logical mind is the concept of the Teacher, the Taught, and the Subject. There may be a tendency to differentiate between the subject and the teacher not knowing that Teacher is the representation of the subject and none else; thus is as venerable. Similar concept is explained in the Bible as the God of trinity; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Bible says that the Father is not the same person as the Son; the Son is not the same person as the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same person as Father. They are distinct persons; yet, they are all one God. They are in absolute perfect harmony consisting of one substance. They are coeternal, coequal, and copowerful. If any one of the three were removed, there would be no God. Restriction of God to the grander of visions; the One with brilliance, radiance, power and might does less to help realize the Supreme that exists beyond the adjectives. Krishna, the brave prodigal son of Yadavas, the brilliant statesman that skillfully led the righteousness to its ultimate glory comes as an example of the Grand God. It is easy to sense such a mighty God by seemingly powerless human. It is the same tendency that might render one to see the Saint of Shirdi as just a fakir albeit with some powers. Once in his fold, what the fakir represents becomes very clear. The God that is difficult to comprehend is in fact the most mercifully bestowing. The material that God is made of also includes the simplest of the Nature, the entity within and outside, dormant yet powerful, the weak and the unnoticed! Distinction between Sadguru and God is very superficial and exists for a
simple reason. Sadguru is the closest that anyone can easily relate to
God!

Thanks to the growth in Technology, this issue of Sai Vichaar, written
in USA, is being composed and distributed from Shirdi with blessings of
Shri Sai Baba to all his devotees worldwide. Shirdi is today bustling
with so much activity attracting innumerable people, that fulfils the
prophecy proclamied by Sainath, himself, during his mortal stay here.
Amidst all the maddening and ever growing crowds, the master sits on his
throne, quietly working single handedly, listening and answering to
millions of prayers that come to him every day! So serene are the
arathis that are sung in temple in a chorus that it brings down all
divinity amidst the shouts and noise outside. Inside the master is
unperturbed, undisturbed and with single minded purpose serves his
devotees much more than the devotees serve him!
Standing amongst the crowds here in Shirdi, one gets a strange feeling
of companionship with everyone around. All have come to this hamlet, to
invoke the master's blessings. Though what is sought may be different,
yet all have come to ask, to request and to pray! One gets what he prays
for! That is the promise of this master never broken yet!
On this thursday, when thousands are lined up at his door, we too are
here to invoke his blessings to answer the prayers that are silently
sent to him from the readers of Sai Vichaar the world over. This
thursday, we also join the Sydney Sai Sansthan to pray for a momentous
and successful Sai Utsav in Sydney, Australia during the Queen's
birthday.
This issue comes from the divine land and as with all the past and
future issues, may this Sai Vichaar also shred some light on the
master's life and teachings. That is our prayer as we bid good bye to
all our readers, well wishers and patrons from Shirdi. May Sainath
shower his choicest blessings to all!

Somebody back in India told my parents that my husband is
accident-prone. This is not the first time it happened with him he got
involved 3 times for no fault of his, but this was BABA who saved us
today 13 May. Thanks to OUR BELOVED GOD. I would like to mention that
for the past few days both my husband and me started doing SRI SAI
SATCHARITRA parayana. I presume that this was why we were saved. My
husband did not believe in SAIBABA before our marriage. We recently
celebrated our second anniversary, which was on May 10 the Thursday. We
were very happy that day as it was Thursday and it was the first time we
were together to celebrate our anniversary. Last time I was in India on
vacation and could not make it in time to US. Therefore, I consider that
it was BABA'S wish that we be together on this anniversary as it came on
Thursday. The Day we love. Thanks to SAIBABA, and friends this was both
terrible and most beautiful day for us.

Surrender the fruit of action to Him so that action will not harm or bind you. Let your love and compassion flow to all creatures of God. Do not engage in controversy. Words (of others) can not harm you. Bear with others patiently. Accept your lot cheerfully without comparing yourself with others. Do not speak ill of others. Do not give tit for tat for each is answerable for his own actions - Sai Baba ![]() Back to Menu Q."What is the significance of Baba's cross-legged sitting posture with
