Sai Vichaar wishes its readers and devotees a Special Thursday. Today is the beginning of the glorious seventh year on the web for Sai Vichaar. This is a special day of celebration of His love and glory. It would not be possible without Sainath's grace and the support of ever increasing number of readers and devotees across the globe. Inscrutable are His ways. It is said in Sai Satcharita that Sainath chooses His followers for various activities. It is also believed that unless He makes the choice, one cannot even attempt to initiate the task. Shriman Booty was entrusted with the construction of the mandir while Srimad Hemadpanth was blessed with the task of authoring Sri Sai Satcharithaamritha. We are aware of Dasganu Maharaj's vision and how he was blessed with the task of propagating Sai tatva through his kirtans. Sai devotee Sree asks the question of the week, "How do we stay away from evil people when God wants us to stay with them under the same roof?" Humbly Yours, The Editor

Feature of the week:
Only a few remain
Damu Anna had a question in mind. There are so many crowding to Sai Baba. Do they all get benefit from Him?. Baba replied lovingly, " Look at the mango tree in blossom. If all the flowers brought fruit, what a splendid crop it would be. But, do they? Most fall off either as flowers or unripe fruits. Very few remain. Yes, only a very few remain. It is said that resorting to Guru is a big fortune. Those who are at least to a little extent drawn towards Guru must consider themselves very fortunate. However, spirituality when viewed as a pursuit of intangible rewards renders the material minded to yield to the gravity of the mundane riches. If Sai Baba is seen as only a source that does miracles and will help in crisis, the very foundation of spirituality is rattled. Understanding the karmic cycle and its effects on our lives must be an important aspect of spiritual growth. A true yearning must in fact make one realize that this cycle affects only the physical being and the soul is untouched by Karma. Baba said, "the body may disease, but the soul has to be kept clean". Even for those, who completely realize the above truth, the
realization evades in the ups and falls of the real world, a myth. Is
saadhana (spiritual pursuit) difficult? Perhaps not, if one realizes the
natural tendency of the physical self and its orientation towards the
sensual. Saadhana may not be that difficult if we realize what makes the
most of the blossom wither away. Saadhana may not be that difficult if
the taste of its fruits is felt, even remotely. Saadhana may not be that
difficult when the loving Guru takes ten steps towards us, if we take a
step towards Him. Our heads may be turned away now, but let our feet
lead the way. Let us be the very few that remain!
Contributed Article: Baba appears when we most need Him
There would be only few people who would not believe that Sai, the
merciful, the omnipotent, the omniscient and the omnipresent shows his
presence when you need him around in someway or the other. Without
mentioning any further I would like to share what happened with me few
days back. One Wednesday night, I had cried before Baba a lot because of
a heartbreak that I suffered months ago. I desired to be with baba at
such a time. I wanted him to put his hand on my head and bless me. I
wanted to touch his feet. I said all this while standing in front of his
poster and cried out my heart and soul to him because for me he's not
just a guru, but also my best friend, guide, father, mother, brother,
everything and everyone. Later I went to bed, still crying. I do not
know when I fell asleep. While I was sleeping, a strange thing happened.
Though I was asleep I could see things around me as if my soul is only
awake or my unconscious was in active state while my conscious was
asleep. At that stage when I was free from all attachments of my body
and when I could no more hear, speak, or indulge in any physical
activity. I saw Sai Baba, standing near the refrigerator lying in my
drawing room. The very sight of him gave relief to my soul. My soul flew
to him. He put his hand on my head. Some kind of energy flowed therein.
I could feel the vibes flowing in my body. I touched his feet. This is
the only thing that I had wished when I had cried before him. I got up
and realized it was past mid night and Thursday had begun. I was more
than overjoyed next day. I resumed the peaceful state of mind. I am
grateful to him that he came to get me relieved from the sorrows. Baba
came to tell me that he is there with me always. No matter what happens.

Vrinda Nair A Sai devotee I would like to share with all Sai devotees a wonderful experience I
had sometime back. It was a Saturday afternoon in February, 1999 in US.
I watched a movie in a theatre and was driving back home. All of a
sudden, it started snowing heavily and visibility was poor. The freeway
was very slippery due to continuous falling of snow. Though I was
careful, my car skid and the front wheels were stuck in the snow
accumulated on the shoulder. Luckily my car did not hit anybody neither
did it block the passing traffic, as it was stuck on the right shoulder.
I was not carrying any cell phone at that time, but I had a small photo
of Baba in my car. I prayed to Baba to save me from the situation,
changed the gear and slowly tried to pull the car out of the mess. After
a minute or two, a police patrol car came down and parked few feet
behind my car. Out stepped an aging policeman in his late fifties,
dressed in white and having gray hair & white beard, he walked to my car
and asked me if I was doing OK. He helped me pull my car out. I thanked
him for coming to my rescue. Then he advised me to take the next exit
and drive through another route. I told him that I was not familiar with
that route. So he assured me that he would follow my car from behind to
make sure I would go in the right direction.
