![]() On this GuruPoornima day, humbly we offer our obeisance at thy Lotus Feet. Bless us with the choicest gifts from Your Treasure Box. Sri Hemadpant came to Shirdi on account of the stored merit of his Punyakarmas. You were standing in the corner of Sathe's wada. He ran, prostrated before you. Joy knew no bounds. He found more than what he had heard from Nana Chandorkar. All his senses were pacified and he forgot thirst and hunger. As he touched Your sacred feet, he began a new lease on life. You held his hand and never let go. Gaulibuva came for your Divya Darshan every year and testified with great faith that you are Pandharinath Vithal incarnate, the merciful Lord of the poor and the helpless. Sri Dasganu had a desire to visit holy Prayag You showed with mercy, Ganga and Yamuna flowing from Your Toes. Such is the significance of Your holy feet. That is where live all the Thirthas of your Bhaktas. You came to Shirdi as a young lad. Just like Krishna, children looked at You with awe and old ladies' hearts swelled up with motherly affection. At Your very first Darshan, Mahalspati heart cried out, YA SAI and You became our Sai. Bless us with the same wealth that You blessed your Mahalspati with. Saint Gangagir came to Shirdi & seeing you carrying pitchers of water in both hands for watering the garden was amazed at Your Darshan and said "Blessed is Shirdi that it got this precious Jewel; but He is not an ordinary fellow. As the land was lucky & meritorious, it secured this Jewell". Saint of Anandmath was lucky to find pure diamond like you. Such was the efficacy of Your Darshan that it quieted our Samsar. Mr. Cholkar's desires were fulfilled just by Your Darshan. Mr. Sathe resorted to Your feet and seeing Your form, which was like eternal Brahma, luminous, spotless and pure, his mind became calm and composed. Such was the efficacy of Your Darshan that Bhakta Pant saw his guru in You and was blessed with fearlessness. Ramdas Bhakta devotee saw her beloved Deity Rama in You.. Lala Lakhmichand was so happy to have Your Darshan that he was enrapt with Your Lotus Feet as a bee with a sweet smelling Rose. Kakaji Vaidya found that there was no benediction, no words, just Your Divya Darshan filled his whole being with peace. Darveshis came with their sick Tiger at Your door for You to cure him. Tiger's head hung down on account of luster on Your face. Such fortune to have death at Your Lotus Feet. Baba, On this GuruPoornima day, bless us with the Vision like you blessed Anandrao Pakhade. Let us decorate our Hridya simhasan with gold and diamonds of all Satwick vrittis. Reside our Deva, take Your Feet out of Your Kafni and let us change the directions of our lives towards the SatyaPath. Let us direct all our senses towards our eyes wherein live You my Sai., We have placed Your Padukas in our heart. Murmur with Your sweet voice, Your eternal message that "THESE ARE THE FEET OF THE LORD". Baba, instill Your Shashwat Sandesh in our ears, "OH.. WHAT IS THERE IN AKKALKOT, and WHAT IS THERE IN PRAYAG"? THE RANCHOD OF DWARKA IS IN SHIRDI. Come to our house for Bhiksha and let us serve You with our sweet devotion. Be pleased with it and placing Your VardaHasta on our heads, comfort us by saying, "THESE FEET ARE OLD AND HOLY, YOU ARE CAREFREE NOW. PLACE ENTIRE FAITH IN ME AND YOU WILL SOON GET YOUR OBJECT." At Your Lotus Feet my Deva, Your own children in Dwarkamai (A contribution by SathyaBhama Sharma, Maryland, USA)

A week later, I got a call from the employer informing me that they would like to hire me and that they would mail me the papers immediately. Well, the papers did not arrive within the expected time and the monkey started to crop in. After a few days, I got a message instead from the employer, that they are wanting to discuss with me about an issue. No official letter of offer and now this message, the monkey was in full swing. With a heavy heart, I called the employers praying to Sainath that there should not be any complications. The employer informed me that they have re-written the letter of offer and wanted to know my consent. The new addition to the offer included a residential house with a great discount in the rent, as a part of the remuneration package. I stood spell bound, not knowing how to thank Sai for taking care of this concern. This was a great deal, especially in a place the rents for good homes are out of sight. As I was listening over the phone about the features of this house from the occupant, I wanted to know the number of the house. I wanted it to be a nine. The last question I asked the person was, "What is the house number?" He said, 36! Bow to Sri Sai Peace be to all.

Response from Alphonso D'Souza to the question of the week
Sai Baba was and is God incarnated who lived in Shirdi, Maharashtra, India from the year 1854 until 1918, where as Jesus of Nazareth born to virgin mother Mary lived in Jerusalem, in the year 35 BC, for about 33 years. To me, the life styles and teaching of both Sainath and Jesus are so parallel, and yet so unique. Baba had no needs and no desire for anything material. If he was living, it was for not himself, but wholly in order to do, well to others. So also did Jesus, born in a stable and lived as a carpenter much of his life, doing his father's will. Sai Baba never revealed his caste and religion has a deep significance. Sai Baba brought to practice the equality of people once they stepped into Dwarakamyi, they are neither rich nor poor, neither a Raja nor Praja (subjects), neither landlord nor a laborer. So did Jesus teach equality among the Jews and Gentiles. The common meals, which Sai Baba cooked and served with his own hands in Dwarakamyi, were an object lesson in equality. Jesus too, ate with sinners and tax collectors to bring them to the faith. As Sai Baba found a person, who was well versed in scriptures reading Bhavadgitha, and asked him what he was reading and pointed out that his intellectual understanding is insufficient to the deep meaning of the scripture. So also did Jesus point ways to the eunuch who did not understand Issaih's scriptures, encouraging us never to give up the learning of scriptures. God inspires all scriptures, as they come out from realized souls and God is one, though called by different names. Both Jesus and Baba lived their lives doing miracles among people, miracles that even controlled the very forces of nature. Jesus said to take part of the 'Eucharist' to remember him and be blessed. Jesus also said that He who is not against Him is for Him and that there will be signs of greater magnitude (to his) in the days later. Sainath gives us 'udi' for the material and spiritual well being for us, as His devotees. Yes, Baba is unique. Baba's very presence has an elevating influence on
those who come for his darshan, and that darshan taken even once is enough
to transform even a casual visitor to a believer, a seeker to hidden
treasures and a sinner into a God man. His objective is to lead and lift the
masses. His path is easy. "I speak from my tomb." He said. He unlike Jesus
did not have to train up disciples, nor even preach. He left no institutions
behind Him, nor did He carry any office. Neither did he appoint any
successor to His mission. His very life was an example. All what he requires
from us is to follow the path laid down by Him as reflected in His earthly
conduct. He never forces anyone, but He will always be there if you
earnestly seek, accept and surrender to Him. So, let us with 'Shraddha' and
'Saburi' resort to the best recourse, His holy feet.

..I am a kind of patient I don't know. I have a desire to be a follower of Baba. I don't want to marry nor do I want to earn money or leave in Comfort (presently I am in Sharjah. U.A.E for earning money for my parents to whom I have given a hell of pain but I repent and to this day, I am suffering for what I have done for them. I love them esp. my mother to whom I can give my life without uttering a word)...This letter I have written in random, with uneasy mind therefore Anything wrong or harmful please neglect it. I never want to degrade any religion nor want to show that one religion is greater than the other is. This Letter I have written to lighten the burden of my heart & mind. I know you can’t print all these in your newsletter nor do I have any desire to see it on the web. But if there is any person who could provide solution to my Burning soul, anybody who could support my weak heart & lazy mind I will be Thankful to your organization all through my life. Once again I agreed with Alphonso D'Souza in regards to the question of the week. There are many religions, and people choose to join them according to their believes. However, they all fight between each other, talk about each other. The question is why if they are all reaching for the same God, no matter its form or name, it is only one. One can not go to a church or join a religion thinking that just because they belong to a religion they will be saved. Is the faith, the dignity, the humble heart what our Lord looks for. There shouldn't be any prohibitions. For example, suppose I join the Jehovah’s witness religion and I am not allowed to wear pants. But when I go to the temple on Saturdays Instead of praying I am thinking of where am I going to go Saturday night. Is my heart in the prayer, of course not. Like the above example there are many people. I will like to suggest if we can all read the Sai Satcarita or the Gita and discuss it on Thursday or meet on a certain date in a chat room to talk to each other about what we have learned so far. The reason why I suggest this is that many of us are not Indians however we believe in Sai Baba, some terms are difficult and since there is not a Sai Center near some of us, we only share what we discuss over this newsletter on Thursdays. If some of you agree, email me at aymee_minaya@hotmail.com. Liliana, I still think and pray for you. Raghu Satya, r_satya@hotmail.com.
